IRHH Patron and long-term supporter Bill Turnbull visited our new Tring bookshop last Saturday where he signed copies of his latest book and declared the shop officially open.

IRHH took the decision to relocate its Tring bookshop from its previous location on Church Yard to a more prominent position on the High Street.  Head of the charity's Retail and Trading operation Lesley Blencowe explains: "We've always enjoyed tremendous support from local shoppers at both of our Tring charity shops, but we did feel that the bookshop being tucked away was affecting our potential sales.  Our Retail and Trading proceeds contribute nearly 20% of our running costs and we need to increase this revenue as our NHS funding remains static even though more patients than ever need our services.

"The new bookshop at 30 High Street, Tring has been open for a fortnight and we have received excellent feedback.  Some customers hadn't frequented our old bookshop and thought it was a new addition entirely, so we think the relocation was definitely the right move!  And it was great that Bill could join us to celebrate its official opening."

BBC presenter Bill Turnbull met staff, volunteers and customers at the shop when he signed copies of his latest book: The Bad Beekeepers' Club.

Can you help.? The new bookshop is in need of a blind in the front window to prevent volunteers and customers from being roasted by the sun's rays. We will have the blind printed in our corporate colours and with useful information about the shop. If you would be willing to provide the funding for the new blind (approximately £100) please contact Linda Petrons on 01442 890222, email lpetrons@irhh.org
