Mark's marathon cycle challengeIRHH supporter Mark Bastick ran the London Marathon last month - and the next day set off with two friends for a 13 day cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats!
So far Mark has raised well over £1,500 for IRHH and he hopes to top £2,000.
Mark explained: "In memory of a friend of ours, we like to help out Iain Rennie however we can, and after much thought and alcohol, I managed to sign myself up for the 2010 London Marathon. I did the Marathon in 4hr 42min and was then driven through the night to Land's End to start the cycle challenge on the Monday. Along with two of my friends I then cycled with my blisters, my aching legs and all my luggage, 80 miles a day for 13 days, completing 995 miles in total!"
Mark said that the highlights were completing the challenge, after being told on countless occasions "Don't you have to train to do that?" or "That's impossible are the Marathon !" and raising money for a great cause. The lowlights were "blisters where people should never have blisters".
Everyone at IRHH is amazed by what Mark achieved, and incredibly grateful that he supported us in the way!
