Team Withers Walk Ridgeway 40!
Emma Withers along with family and friends decided to take on the challenge of walking the Ridgeway 40 to remember her Grandma, Pauline who passed away in November 2008. The weather was miserable, cold, wet, and windy with varying degrees of drizzle and rain but that did not stop Team Walk Withers from completing the 40-mile walk along the Ridgeway on Saturday 8 th May.
Emma said, "The team was given the most amazing support by Steve and Bridget Withers, the impact of which was immeasurable. They drove to meet us at various points along the course and dispensed hot tea and coffee, sandwiches, fruit sweets and (amazingly!) hot bacon butties, pasta, and awesome home-made brownies - as well as a significant amount of support, encouragement and plasters for our blisters. Meeting friendly faces bearing such goodies along the way made absolutely all the difference, so a heartfelt thank you to you both for everything!"
The team have already raised over £1,000 which will provide more than 50 hours of palliative nursing care. This really will make a huge difference to the families and carers of our patients. Keep up the good work!
