A group of Year 11 pupils at Beaconsfield High School are supporting us with the sales of a special cook book.
The 11 students launched the company 'Nosh' as part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme. The company has researched and compiled a host of delicious recipes designed with fellow students in mind. Famous chef, Phil Vickery, has donated a recipe to the book and the students are hoping to obtain celebrity endorsements from other local celebs.
Students Lauren and Andrea explain: "We wanted to create a cook book of quick and easy recipes aimed at busy people. We thought it would be a bonus to sell it and donate the proceeds to a local charity. Hundreds of families living locally are affected by terminal illness each year and supported by Iain Rennie nurses, so that seemed like an excellent choice."
IRHH head of fundraising Helen Mariner said: "We're delighted to be working with the students at Beaconsfield High School . We're keen to work with other local schools too. We can offer assembly presentations and PSHE lesson plans on hospice care; work experience placements throughout the charity; enterprise schemes and fundraising ideas, events and support - including recycling, fashion shows and our festive fundraiser - the sponsored Santa Dash."
If your school or guide / scouts group is interested in a partnership with IRHH, please contact the charity on 01442 890222 or click here.
The cookbooks cost £5 and the students are selling them at some of their school events or they are available from fundraising@irhh.org.
