Festive fun for everyone!

The man behind Mister Maker from Cbeebies was very popular with our Reindeer runners!

Around 600 Santas – and a good few reindeer – took on our festive fun runs in Wycombe and St Albans in December. Both events catered for all the family, with a 5K run round the Rye and a 1K route for younger participants on 3rd December – and a 5K route through St Albans city centre plus a 1.5K option for youngsters the following weekend. Thanks to everyone who took part or supported the events, including Wycombe Wanderers staff plus mascot Bodger and Kobica Cheerleading Academy, who put on a fantastic display.

Staff from Expressions Gym at Parkwood Leisure and Westminster Lodge made sure Santas and Reindeer alike limbered up in readiness for their runs

Waterend Barn in St Albans provided the perfect pre-race place to keep warm, and our hosts Heart FM ensured the warm glow remained as runners braved the elements, with their winning combination of participant interviews and festive hits.

The Mayors and Mayoresses of Wycombe and St Albans turned out to congratulate runners. Cllr Lee comented: “Grove House has been dear to my heart for many years.  Few of us have not been touched by cancer at some point and by joining with Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, Grove House has strengthened the vital link between day hospice and hospice at home which I know will be very valued by many local families.”
