Whilst the warm and balmy days of midsummer might seem like a very long time ago now, members of Lambourne Golf Club have been beavering away since then to gather together a massive fundraising total of £8,600 from the first highly successful Midsummer Golf Challenge in aid of IRHH.
Event organisers Steve Harris and Alan Pech were aiming for a total of £5,000 from the event and are particularly delighted that this target has been so impressively exceeded.
15 teams participated in the Challenge and all enjoyed both the golf and the fantastic weather. The day also included a Trick Shot demonstration and a shotgun start competition and was followed by a great evening of entertainment for all, including a dinner, an auction and a raffle. The guest speaker for the evening was World Cup Rugby Star, Andy Gomarsall MBE, who also helped with the auction.
The evening was also attended by IRHH Ambassador, Philip Dawson, who gave a short talk about the charity and by three other representatives of the charity, Paul Parrish (Acting Director of Fundraising), Linda Petrons (Corporate Fundraiser) and Alli Harmer (Philanthropy Manager).
Thanks go to Steve and Alan for their monumental efforts and also to the IRHH Beaconsfield Fundraising Group who supported the event, particularly Annie Bennett for her help and support on the day.
A similar event is now being planned for June 2012 so watch this space for more impressive fundraising totals.
