Penn Grotto raises Christmas cheer and valuable fundsA magical Christmas grotto sparkling with lights and featuring dancing penguins and singing polar bears was a must-see attraction at Penns Flowers, Longwick, near Princes Risborough throughout December and a great fundraiser for IRGH.
The grotto was built originally by two great friends Mick Penn and Clifford Clark with the aim of giving local children the chance to visit Santa's grotto without having to pay while optional donations would be donated to local charities. Sadly Clifford died of cancer in 2007. Having been cared for by Iain Rennie nurses during his illness, Clifford asked Mick before he died to donate all profits from the grotto to IRHH.
The grotto opened throughout December until Christmas for all visitors to enjoy with Father Christmas available between 2 and 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays to give a present to every child. Thanks to Mick Penn and everyone involved for their support.
