Pub landlord offers volunteers a Christmas treat

Christmas came early for a group of Iain Rennie volunteers when they enjoyed a fabulous festive meal courtesy of a Wendover pub.

The Shoulder of Mutton, a traditional country pub on Pound Street , Wendover, served a traditional Christmas meal for a dozen hard-working volunteers from the Iain Rennie Retail & Trading team on Thursday November 24.

Landlord Adam Szczypior and his team are staunch supporters of the hospice charity. The team has a collection box on their counter; they help with refreshments for events at the nearby Iain Rennie Memorial Woodland – and this is the second year running they have hosted a Christmas lunch for volunteers.

Linda Petrons , IRGH corporate fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful to Adam for offering this treat for some of our volunteers, and it's great to be able to thank them in this way. IRGH has more than 1,000 volunteers helping across all aspects of the charity's work. The pub's Wendover location makes it ideal for offering lunch to some of our volunteers who live nearby, and they were delighted to accept Adam's invitation and had a very enjoyable afternoon.”
