5th Annual Cross Reference Golf Day

Cross Reference, the long-standing business networking group based in Gerrards Cross, held its fifth annual golf day at Oakland Park Golf Club recently to raise funds for IRGH.

The idea for the day came from Peter Hollingsworth after one of our Ambassadors visited Cross Reference to explain the aims of the charity. “Everything seemed to fit. It was clearly a good cause. It is very much a local charity for local people and there was a strong connection to Oakland Park , which I had just joined, and to golf in general. The golf club has been superb in their support. They regard it as a major date in their calendar and make everyone feel very welcome.”

Community Fundraising Manager, Joanne Hunt said: “What could be better? We have had 88 local golfers having a really good time and our funds have been given a very welcome boost. Events like this are so important to us. Demands for our services are increasing all the time and these donations really make a difference.”

Ian Nunn, a keen golfer and a supporter of the event from the beginning commented: “The day was a resounding success. The golf course was in great condition and we were looked after as well as ever. It is very heartening to be able to raise money for such a good cause at the same time.”

An amazing £5,023 was raised on the day bringing the total over the five years to nearly £20,000. We would like to particularly thank Peter Hollingworth and Kathy Snowdon for organising this fantastic event.
