Family support has always been an integral part of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home philosophy of care. We are proud to provide such a comprehensive support network, drawing on the breadth of experience and expertise of the Family Support Team members.
The Family Support Team are asked by Iain Rennie nurses to support families and individuals during a patient's illness and to extend this service into the period of bereavement. We can provide a useful link for children between home and their school, and the Children's Support & Activities Facilitator will work within the Pepper Children's Nursing Team with patients and their siblings. Often schools will approach the Team for guidance in better supporting children who are members of a family where there is illness in the home.
